Area / Oriental Rug Care

Rugs for Generations

Area rugs are popular. Just look around and you’ll see they are being sold on almost every corner. If you need your beloved rug cleaned, we have our area rug cleaning company pamper the rugs you love.

With proper care and maintenance and cleaning rugs can last for generations. Rugs can and are very complex and vary in value, they should be cleaned and restored by trained and knowledgeable professionals.

Well naturally these fine textiles which can sometimes be referenced as “Art” will need ongoing maintenance and eventually cleaning.

Care Rite Cleaning Specialists can satisfy all your rug cleaning needs. We have our rug cleaning specialists company, Dakota Fine Rug Cleaning, care for each piece individually. Each rug is matched to the safest and most effective cleaning process and cleaned individually.

Cleaning technology is different than wall to wall carpet cleaning. Rug fibers are very different than those used in residential broadloom carpet. Backings and construction are very different, as natural foundation yarns are more prominent in woven rugs and some tufted rugs as opposed to separate synthetic backing fabrics for tufted carpet. Far more natural fiber such as wool and silk as seen in upper to high-end rugs, along with cotton in some moderate styles and may be vegetable dyed with fruits, roots and plants. Synthetic fiber rugs are mostly moderate range. They are more stain resistant than natural fibers but are not as soft.

Having your rugs cleaned off site allows them special attention and treatment for a more thorough cleaning, controlled drying, and the use of various tools and processes that are not available on location in your home or office.

Keep it Looking like the Piece of Art it is.

Hooray! You are the proud owner of a beautiful area rug, be it synthetic or natural fiber.

Vacuuming is your area rugs best friend when done correctly.

To get the most dirt out of your area rug, turn the rug upside down and vacuum the back with a rotating brush/beater bar type vacuum cleaner first. This vibrates the loose dirt and debris to the top of the fibers and when you vacuum the top the appearance of the rug can improve a lot.

For Synthetic area rugs using a vacuum cleaner with a rotating brush/beater bar on both sides of the rug is fine.

For Wool area rugs vacuum the topside with suction only. A rotating brush/beater bar can remove some of the finer fibers.

Fringes should also be vacuumed with suction only.

Area rugs should be vacuumed at least once a week and vacuuming of the top & back sides at least once a month. Doing this along with rotating the rug 180 degrees occasionally, to distribute wear and soiling evenly, will help to extend the life of your area rugs. Don’t forget that area rugs on hard surfaces should have a pad under them to avoid excess wear.
